Exclusive expo of Iranian products opens in Tashkent
On the sidelines of the 13th meeting of the Iran-Uzbekistan Joint Economic Committee, a three-day exclusive exhibition of Iranian products opened in the Uzbek capital city of Tashkent on Wednesday.
The inaugural ceremony of the exhibit was attended by Hamid Zadboum, head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, and Bahman Hosseinzadeh, managing director of Iran International Exhibitions Company, as well as officials from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, shatanews.ir reported.
37 renowned Iranian companies are participating at the exclusive expo.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Zadboum said, “This exhibition is a valuable opportunity for strengthening cooperation between the two countries’ private sectors.”
He also stressed that Iran and Uzbekistan were determined to expand and strengthen their long-term economic and trade cooperation and also joint investment programs.
Addressing the same ceremony, Hosseinzadeh, announced Iran’s readiness to boost cooperation with Uzbekistan for holding exhibitions.
He also invited Uzbek companies to attend Iran’s international exhibitions to showcase their capabilities on the Iranian market and promote trade ties between the two countries.
The official further expressed hope for productive agreements between Iranian and Uzbek sides through meetings that the exhibition of Iranian products in Tashkent is providing.
Hosseinzadeh also touched on the opening of direct flights between the two countries, saying they will lead to more trade and tourism cooperation between Iran and Uzbekistan.
The 13th meeting of the Iran-Uzbekistan Joint Economic Committee is being held in Tashkent in the presence of Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Reza Rahmani.
In August, Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister Abdulla Nigmatovich Aripov said his country welcomed Iranian investors and private sectors’ contribution to Uzbek economy.
He made the remarks at a meeting with Iran’s First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri and Transport Minister Mohammad Eslami. The Uzbek prime minister also said the level of trade between the two countries had increased compared to last year, but still needed growth.
Jahangiri, for his part, underlined the great economic capacities of Iran and Uzbekistan, saying both nations should take necessary measures to remove barriers on trade development between them, so that the two sides could reach a comprehensive agreement on trade cooperation.
“The two countries’ economies can complement each other and Iran is ready to expand its relations with Uzbekistan in all areas,” noted the Iranian VP.
